Our soap is made using the traditional cold-pressed method. This method involves combining oils and sodium hydroxide lye to create a chemical reaction called saponification. Saponification produces soap and glycerin, a natural moisturizer. Cold-pressed soap is more natural and gentle than other types of soap because the saponification reaction is done at a lower temperature, which preserves more of the natural properties of the oils. As a result, cold-pressed soap is less likely to irritate the skin, making it a great choice for people with sensitive skin.
